Human Rights Day



São Paulo will have activities celebrating Human Rights Day.

The celebrations include:

"A Photrographic Look Over Human Rights" Exhibit

Hip Hop Culture and Jewish Cinema Festival in São Paulo



Two complete different worlds and with their festival happening in the same week here.

First, “Cultura Hip Hop”, starts today with its 2nd Hip Hop Film Festival São Paulo, they’re showing 13 documentaries and all sessions are free. There are also related parties, free lectures and many other things.

And, starting on the 7th until the 12nd, there’s the 11th Jewish Cinema Festival. There are 42 different movies (fiction and documentaries) ...

My place to be



That is Avenida Paulista (Paulista Avenue). Probably the most known and busiest avenue from São Paulo (or from the whole country? I should check that).

Many people from other states fear this place without even knowing it, especially those from small towns. Of course, it can be scary, it’s understandable. It’s the most important business center of the state, it’s always crowded (while some, or most, street and avenues of city are empty after 9pm - besides those streets filled with bars and nightclubs - you can easily see a good amount of people walking around at ANY hour of the day).

But to sum the whole avenue and its streets nearby to a business center only it’s largely unfair. The place is much, much more than that. It has malls, restaurants, pubs, bars, theaters, movie theaters, hotels, schools, colleges, museums, bookstores, hospitals, gyms, etc, etc and etc. It has much more than many cities in this country have.

Art Exhibit in the São Paulo Subways



If you are ever in São Paulo and go around the city by subway, you will notice that many stations have art exhibits. Some are permanent, others change. Yosakoi Soran é um estilo de dança japonesa que une tradição e modernidade.
