A Lôca - Gay Club in São Paulo
Everyone should have figured out by now that São Paulo, being such a huge and diverse city, has something for absolutely every one to do, and a place for everyone to feel welcome at. As such, we have seen posts about the Japanese community, posts about high-end fashion and top class shopping, restaurants of all sorts, and a variety of other events and things to do, that cover a wide range of interests. As many people know, São Paulo has a huge gay pride parade every year, and due to the immense population of gays, lesbians, bisexual, and transexual people, it is not hard to find a good GLS club to attend.
Even if you are not gay, if you love good music, it is a great place to go, and if you are a woman, you get the added perk of not being constantly hassled and annoyed by guys trying to make out with you, so I recommend that anyone that is not homophobic go to one at least once...

Anyhow, this post is about one club in particular - A Lôca. This club, located near Av. Paulista, has a great weekly programmation, and I can personally attest to the quality of Thursday nights. Great flashback music, a hilarious drag queen show, friendly people, and an interesting place make for a good night out. It's in a "little" house that during the day you drive by and barely notice that there is anything going on there at all. No signs, no nothing... but at night it comes alive, a banner comes out, and the line that forms at the door give an undeniable sign that there is something fun going on in there! Once you go in, you find an original decoration, comprised of a cavernous look and some flashback moments with games at one of the corners. As you walk in, you find out that in reality, the small-looking house is rather enourmous on the inside, and big enough for you to walk around, dance like crazy, and find a place to sit down, have a drink, and relax a little.
Check it out for yourself! Oh, and make sure you take an ID Card with you. They are very serious about the age limit, and they check *everyone*'s document.
