Sao Paulo, the bakery, bar, restaurant and shop.
I love the Padaria, which is the Brazilian bakery combined with bar, cafe, restaurant and shop. One of my favourite things is to go and sit at the bar and eat ‘pão na chapa’, (bread on the grill with butter) drink coffee and a freshly made fruit juice. This is a good breakfast, but later in the day you can get all kinds of hot food, beer, and other beverages at the same place, generally extremely cheaply. I recently watched both the Champions League Final and the England v Brazil game in a local padaria and ate Hamburgers and drank beer. This type of establishment doesn’t really exist in England but can be found in abundance here in Sao Paulo. One I enjoy going to a lot is called Sao Paulo Da Cruz, on Rua Teodoro Sampaio, Pinheiros. But I’m sure there’s one near you that will be good wherever you are in the city.
