Summertime

Today I had a commercial shoot which lasted over 4 hours and I am really exhausted. We did the shooting at Sheik Resort, its near the Kuwait Regency Hotel.

They recently renovated the place and part of the renovations included a beautiful new pool and an incredible sandy white beach.

The sun was out and it was a bit hot, the pool was empty and looked very refreshing. It would have been amazing if I was able to take a swim today.

I think I will end up going there this summer. Its pretty close to my home and I haven’t seen a beach as clean and white yet here in Kuwait.

QT Hotel

Manhattan’s QT Hotel is an uber-cool boutique hotel that is getting rave reviews from guests. The hotel pool bar is open from 5pm until 2am, and also features a strict “no pictures” policy. Oops!

QT is known for “NO PICTURES” allowed. Well one night as I was sitting there having a drink, I just had to take out my Ricoh and take a quick snap.

For those who don’t know, QT is a boutique hotel on 46th. They have an indoor pool right in between reception and the bar.

Hotel Deseo swimming pool

I’m no pro in the Spanish language, but I’m pretty sure that “deseo” en espanol means want. So check out the Hotel Want. At 15 rooms, it’s not the biggest hotel in Mexico but it looks good from here on the pool side of things.

All I can say is…

Check out this crisp looking water bowl at the 189 room Hotel Garbe - a Portuguese resort.

The Hotel Garbe was really excellent, great location right on the beach, nice rooms with really good firm beds and virtually silent air conditioning. The breakfasts were as good as any I have had on holiday.

The hotel buildings and setting are just stunning and all of the the rooms have amazing views of the islands.

However, if you are looking for a beach holiday this may not be the place for you. The beach is next to the estuary so the water and sand are not particularly clean. The sandbanks mean that even after walking out about a 1/4 mile you were still only ankle deep

Hotel swimming pool on the Amalfi Coast

If you’re as ignorant as we are and have never heard of the Amalfi Coast, it is in Italy on the Mediterranean Sea.

The inhospitable cliffs and craggy rocks have allowed the Amalfi Coast to maintain most of the impressive yet charming beauty that began to attract hoards of visitors from throughout the world at the beginning of the nineteenth century for its mild climate, suggestive sense of isolation, fascinating landscape and ancient memories.

This spectacular image shows off an incredible pool view both of the pool itself, and from it. We love this pool, but we’d like to see a little more sunshine beaming down to offset the high drama! Shiver me timbers.
