A swimming pool on the gulf coast of Florida. I photoshopped all the people off the beach and everything else they left behind except one plastic cut and straw. This was the first in the series of three.
Second in the series this photograph shows a contrating background to photograph #01. Being a roof top pool in Dallas, Texas the beautiful ocean of the first photo has been replace by skyscrapers.
The third shot in my swiming pool series it shows a bit more sky than photograph #02. This is a roof top swimming pool in Las Vegas and will soon be torn down for an expansion of Freemont Street.
One of my favourite pix that I took in Greece. The hedonistic lifestyle illustrated completely here. The pool belongs to the Hotel Loukas where I stayed.
Why are all those words like “sybarite”, “halcyon”, “hedonist”, Greek I wonder?
Spencer is a traveller and hotel maven. He’s also a hotel bed jumper!
When Spencer was recently staying at the swank Ritz Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong he snapped some images of the pool area for us to enjoy. Check out the serious urban view to this outdoor oasis!
We are always thrilled to receive emails from our viewers featuring first-hand hotel swimming pool experiences.
Travel writer Jay Hammond sent this sweet pool image from the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Pheonix, Arizona..along with his thoughts on the Resort.
Thanks Jay.
Going with the flow is easy at the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. The sinuous pool winds its way through a series of patios and desert landscaping. Guests can drift along in inner tubes and rafts or lounge along the route in comfortable chaise lounges. Occasional fountains arching over the pool help keep drifters cool. Poolside beverage service does the same for those on land. It’s a wonderful way to pass the day!
Morocco is a dazzling travel experience full of exotic delights and warm hospitality. The next time you are visiting the ancient souk markets in Marrakech, check out these steamy pools at the world-renouned Amanjena Hotel.
Since Paul Rodwell and his wife, Noemi took over the day-to-day management of Amenjena, standards have soared. It always was the best place to stay in the Palmerai, just 15 mins from the centre, but now it is even better, as the level of personal service is exceptional.
OK, you pay the highest dollar to stay here, but that’s OK as long as it is worth it, and believe me, Amanjena is worth every penny. I especially recommend the newish pool pavilions, as these are exceptional suites with a massive amount of exterior space, including large private pools, solarium areas and, at the front, little round fountains and glorious curtained daybeds overlooking the ‘bassin’ - the natural lake that centres the resort…[TripAdvisor]
Many hotels in Barcelona, Spain feature their swimming pools on top of the hotel building. Not only does this save space for the hotel property, but it also ensures that the view from the top is going to be spectacular.
Enjoy this grand vista from the hotel rooftop pool at Barcelona’s ultra-stylish AC Forum Barcelona.
The hotel had a very modern look and feel. The views were specatacular, especially from the pool deck. Rooms were very nice and the hotel provided complimentary breakfast. Located across the street from a modern mall and 2 blocks from the metro. Taxis are located right outside and can get you to the casino or the Olympic Port in less than 10 minutes…[TripAdvisor]
The swimming pool at the Hilton Hotel in Auckland New Zealand is suspended between the two buildings that make up this dramatic property. There is a viewing gallery underneath the pool so hotel guests can check out the action from below.
Check this view of Sheraton’s Krabi Beach Resort pool uploaded last October. Most reviews of this resort on Tripadvisor were favourable, but not all…
Stayed there with my wife in October for 2 weeks and we were disappointed due to several reasons. For such a huge hotel, there is not much space around the pool area and the pool is for the size of the hotel too small. Especially if you want to relax and you are looking for a quiet and shady place. Then there are too many kids running and playing around the pool and kids are usually noisy, especially if there are many of them coming together. Even on the beach, there are only a few deckchairs and some trees, but this is not enough to find one and to have the full day a shady place. There are no sunshades available…[TripAdvisor]
A view of the back of the Omni Hotel & Villas we stayed at in Cancun. I took this shot around 8 AM one morning. Cancun was wonderful. I ate so much, there, everyday!
We love aerial views of hotel swimming pools here at HotelSplash.com. This terrific image featuring the view from a guestroom at the GCI Hotel in Surfer’s Paradise, Australia also highlights the swim-up bar. It’s the building below with the red roof.
Investigate a few other hotel options in Surfer’s Paradise before you check into this hotel though - recent TripAdvisor reviews are less-than complimentary.
My stay at this location was a horrible experience. Unfortunately it was the last hotel we stayed in during a long trip around Australia and the second hotel we stayed in at Surfers Paradise…[TripAdvisor]
Perched adjacent to steep rice terraces looking out to a temple on the opposite hill, this extraordinary property’s individual Villas are all constructed in contemporary Balinese style with thatched alang-alang roofs.
Check out the view from one of the hotel’s private villas:

We don’t advocate hotel “funny business” here at HotelSplash.com, but if you’re in Krabi, Thailand and this is the resort pool next to your hotel…Whoa! That would be be hard to resist.
There is nothing like taking a running leap into a warm pool on a freezing day. Montreal has its share of freezing days, and this steamy pool at the Hilton Bonaventure looks inviting enough. Of course with no guests actually in the pool in the image above, perhaps this day was just a little too cold.
Marshall McLuhan, Canadian philosopher and scholar is rumoured to have swum here. In case you don’t know, McLuhan is well-known for coining the expressions “the medium is the message” and the “global village”.
There are specific things that we look for when we post hotel swimming pool photos on HotelSplash.com. Cool looking rooftop vistas, dreamy looking facilities, exotic places, exotic hotel guests enjoying the hotel pool…things like that.
Sometimes we get lucky and find all of these things in one image - like this photo taken at the Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok.
My partner and I stayed at the Banyan Tree from the 8th October for 3 nights. Being a travel agent I am very fussy when it comes to hotel and like things to be executed ‘just so’ and I have to say I was blown away by the Banyan Tree.
The hotel is not the newest but is lovingly maintained and I got the impression that the staff are all justifyably pleased of their establishment…[TripAdvisor]
Guam is officially the “U.S. Territory of Guam”, and is a tropical paradise in the Mariana Islands of Micronesia in the Western Pacific Ocean. The Guam Reef Hotel boasts a sensational infinity pool perched on a cliff above the beach. Water cascading over the edge blends (at the right angle) into slow moving tides of Tumon Bay.
The hotel staff were very accomodating and friendly. They had good food and a wonderful view of the ocean. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. The rooms were well kept. The view from my room was just incredible. The next time I go to Guam, I will not have second thoughts checking in this hotel again…[TripAdvisor]
