Vegan Menu at a Hotel Pool Bar in Solo, Java
This was at the nicest hotel in Solo. I didn’t even order that burger and I already want my money back.

We love aerial views of hotel swimming pools here at HotelSplash.com. This terrific image featuring the view from a guestroom at the GCI Hotel in Surfer’s Paradise, Australia also highlights the swim-up bar. It’s the building below with the red roof.
Investigate a few other hotel options in Surfer’s Paradise before you check into this hotel though - recent TripAdvisor reviews are less-than complimentary.
My stay at this location was a horrible experience. Unfortunately it was the last hotel we stayed in during a long trip around Australia and the second hotel we stayed in at Surfers Paradise…[TripAdvisor]

The swimming pool at Hotel Inter-Continental, Chicago. The story is that Johnny Weismuller swam here.
Johnny Weissmuller (June 2, 1904 – January 20, 1984) was one of the world’s best swimmers in the 1920s, winning five Olympic gold medals and one bronze medal. He won fifty-two US National Championships and set sixty-seven world records. After his swimming career he became the sixth actor to portray Tarzan in films, a role he played in twelve motion pictures. Other actors also played Tarzan, but Weissmuller was the best-known. His distinctive, ululating Tarzan yell is still often used in films…[Wikipedia]

Ok, you probably had to be there to enjoy this, but sit back and imagine yourself in on the construction of the $250 million hotel, Hyatt Regency at Poipu Beach, Kauai about 1990. It is not done yet, and you get to go see where the beautiful lagoons and swimming area will be when they are done. Suddenly your ex, when he wasn’t your ex yet, and your daughter (Anna Leigh’s mommy) pretend they are fish swimming through the water that isn’t there yet. It wasn’t very long after that this was completed, and Hurricane Iki came along and did considerable damage to it, but I understand it did not get totaled. You are not likely to ever witness a shot like this again in that spot.

If you were in Las Vegas in 1974, this is what the hotel pool would have looked like at the venerable Frontier Hotel. Check out the Eisenhower stamp on the postcard!

When you win the pageant title “Miss Commonwealth Scotland”, you can be sure that your schedule is going to get tied up pretty quick.
Amanda-Jane Taylor can attest to the pace of whirlwind tours after achieving celebrity. And what does Miss Commonwealth Scotland do to relax and reflect on her success?
A swim and spa at the luxury Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen, Scotland of course.

Hua Hin. Thailand, September 2006
When travellers visit distant lands for business or pleasure, sometimes they will find themselves experiencing major events first-hand.
This image captures an interesting moment; Thailand’s political coup on September 19, 2006. This guest is reading a Thai newspaper with a local headline that made news around the world.

“…How many hotels can claim that Keanu Reeves, Linda Ronstadt, Sinead O’Connor, John F. Kennedy Jr., Faye Dunaway, and David Bowie have graced their corridors? How many hotels have become the crash pad and launching pad for world-renowned bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and Pearl Jam; and up-and-comers like Norah Jones, Pete Yorn and Hoobastank?…[hotel site]”
At the Phoenix Hotel in San Francisco. There was a Maxim photo shoot while we were there, so there were 12 skinny girls in bikinis and sweatshirts running around.
Thanks for the image, Julie

The door was locked, but I found a side entrance via the spa. The security guard, Steve, who rousted me out was very nice but didn’t want to lose his job by being flexible. It turns out some kid had “an accident” in the pool yesterday, and they are fixing it now with extra chlorine. I’m sure he would have been glad to have me sign a release, but the hotel doesn’t have such a release available, he told me.
