Sheraton Buganvilias Resort Pool Vista

The two pools were excellent, and the hot tub on the island was very pleasant. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and accomodating. The La Gravitas restaurant was outstanding, as good or better than any of the highly rated restaurants in town. The lobby bar with live guitar music every evening, overlooking the pools and the ocean was great. (2 for 1 drinks from 6-8 pm). Embarcadero bar/loung also very good, with a good bar menu…[TripAdvisor]

Daring December Swim at Fairmont’s Scottsdale Princess

Only kids, and visitors from the north, would dare the pool in December. The temperature, according to the radio a few mintues before this picture was taken reported a temperature near 60 degrees (fahrenheit). The photographer, a local, was wearing a big sweater and wool pants! No wonder the kids stayed close to the hot tub!

Thanks for sending this in Jay!

In the Pool at the Lan-Sei Resort, Philippines

Resort hotel swimming pools usually feature gorgeous views of the surrounding terrain or the local beach. The pool is a means of relaxing and enjoying one’s stay, but the view is often the central feature.

At the Lan-Sei Water Resort in the Philippines, the family-friendly resort swimming pools themselves are a central feature of the guest experience.

Check out Kris, Josh, Bryan and Beth enjoying their aqua adventures below.

Steamy Hotel Pool at the Hilton Bonaventure, Montreal

There is nothing like taking a running leap into a warm pool on a freezing day. Montreal has its share of freezing days, and this steamy pool at the Hilton Bonaventure looks inviting enough. Of course with no guests actually in the pool in the image above, perhaps this day was just a little too cold.

Marshall McLuhan, Canadian philosopher and scholar is rumoured to have swum here. In case you don’t know, McLuhan is well-known for coining the expressions “the medium is the message” and the “global village”.

The Majestic Hotel’s Rooftop Oasis Above Barcelona

If it seems that we like rooftop hotel swimming pools here at HotelSplash.com, that would be because we LOVE rooftop swimming pools!

While we sympathize with hotel guests who dream of sunny vacations on sand-covered beaches (especially in winter), we like to point out that urban landscapes from high-up can also be just as breathtaking. Especially in Barcelona, Spain.

What Barcelona’s Majestic Hotel swimming pool lacks in “width”, is more than compensated for with this absolutely incredible view.

This hotel is right in the middel of the city, the rooms were ok, but what really makes this hotel is the roof garden, pool and bar. During the day and night you can see right into the heart of the city. Unfortanely the hotel lacks the glamour of the Arts. Be sure to ask for Steve the head bar man on the roof bar makes great cocktails…[TripAdvisor]

Tarzan Swam at the Hotel InterContinental, Chicago

The swimming pool at Hotel Inter-Continental, Chicago. The story is that Johnny Weismuller swam here.

Johnny Weissmuller (June 2, 1904 – January 20, 1984) was one of the world’s best swimmers in the 1920s, winning five Olympic gold medals and one bronze medal. He won fifty-two US National Championships and set sixty-seven world records. After his swimming career he became the sixth actor to portray Tarzan in films, a role he played in twelve motion pictures. Other actors also played Tarzan, but Weissmuller was the best-known. His distinctive, ululating Tarzan yell is still often used in films…[Wikipedia]

Night View at the Radisson Dubai

I tried a few long exposure night shots of the Radisson’s swimming pool.

“Very very trendy, very stylish, an excellent place to sit. It’s not like one of those huge hotels, you don’t feel as if it’s a big hotel when you are staying there, just seems like a hotel with 30 or 40 rooms or so. The ambience is excellent, would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially business travellers…[TripAdvisor]”

Allegra Hotel Pool in Turkey

Thanks to Mester for these amazing images from the Allegro Hotel in Kalkan. Stunning vistas and personal, intimate service to match:

The Allegra is a fantastic hotel in a great location not too far from Kalkan centre. The rooms are spacious and stylish. All face the sea and have unforgettable views. Although everything about this hotel is excellent, the ‘infinity’ pool that appears to merge with the clear blue sea below is perhaps its most impressive feature. The owners Christine and Tayfun are perfect hosts and we would definitely recommend this friendly hotel to anyone visting Kalkan…[more]

Pool at the Edge of Singapore

The island nation of Singapore isn’t exactly known for wide open spaces. Finding the Hotel Fullerton’s outdoor urban oasis looks like time well spent. The neo-classical Fullerton Hotel was built back in 1928.

Our original room was quite small as was a corner room with a reduced floor plan but after asking we were upgraded to a Heritage room overlooking the pool which was wonderful.

Singapore was a great city to spend a few days and lots to do, hotel is well positioned to tour the city and sits in a very grand position overlooking the river and out to sea…[more]

Shompole Resort - Great Rift Valley, Kenya

Situated on the side of the Nguruman escarpment, overlooking the stunning expanse of the Great Rift Valley, Kenya - Shompole Lodge is positioned ideally to make the most of both an incredible view and the cool breeze.

Shompole Lodge is located in southern Kenya on the Tanzanian border near soda Lakes Natron and Magadi. The Lodge is located on the edge of the Nguruman Escarpment overlooking the Great Rift Valley, Kenya.

Constructed to emphasise the beauty of natural materials combined with flowing water and smooth white walls, the camp is truly an unusual and exquisite place:

This pool was in addition to our pool in the room and was JUST for two rooms’ guests (4 people) this was the most amazing ‘resort hotel’ i have ever seen, we had an open ‘room’ overlooking the shompole game reserve. there were no walls to the room, but there was a 12′ x 12 ” bed with a fountain as a headboard, a dining room, a lounge, open shower, plunge pool and the best views on earth - so we took advantage.

What an incredible place!

Emelisse Hotel Pool Panorama

Here is a spectacular vista looking out across the Emelisse Hotel swimming pool in Cephalonia, Greece. We love it when the water in the pool blends into the distance of an ocean view!

Cephalonia is one of six Ionian islands in the emerald Ionian Sea, situated off the west coast of Greece. The other five islands include Ithaca, Paxos, Corfu, Zakynthos and Kythira.

We spent a week at the hotel on honeymoon mid August. It was fantastic and certainly lived up to our expectations — we chose the hotel from Conde Nast’s Hot-List.

We had a room with sea view and it was amazing. I much prefer clean modern design rather than the chintzy-flowery-traditional look you get in many hotels, so Emelisse was perfect from the style aspect. Added together with friendly service it made a great holiday…[more]

Hotel Pool in Soèhi, Russia

When you imagine yourself relaxing pool-side with cocktail in hand and a warm tropical breeze caressing your stress levels, we’ll bet that the last destination on earth where you would imagine yourself is the Russian Federation.

At least that was the case for us here at HotelSplash.com

Check out this terrific image of the poolside activity at an (unfortunately) un-named resort hotel in Soèhi (aka Sochi), on the Russian Riviera.

Yes, we did say Russian Riviera. And in an interesting, and somewhat confusing twist, Sochi is also the sub-tropical location chosen by the Russian Federation as their host city for their bid for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. There must be some extreme temperature variations in the region.

Along a strip of land known as the Russian Riviera, the sandy beaches of Soèhi have attracted travelers since the 7th and 6th centuries BC, when Greek merchants made the city part of their Black Sea trade route.

This near-sub-tropical area of Russia has fallen under the auspices of countless ruling parties and governments over the last 1000 years, from Romans of the 1st century AD to Ottoman Turks of the 15th century. Not until the late 18th century did the Russians firmly cement their hold on the beautiful northeast corner of the Black Sea, and not until a century later did they discover the region’s tourism value.
