Hotel Atoll Wellness Pool in Helgoland, Germany

Relaxing tones, neutral space…talk about minimalist-chic!

The hotel itself is modern, clean and equipped with everything you would await. Nothing very special, but up to the standards, modern and clean. They have a rather small pool (which can be viewed from the reception area through looking-holes - might be a downturn for some people) and a nice breakfast buffet (not a vast selection, but again up to the standards). In short: Exactly what I expected.

It is a nice spot I can recommend (I suggest to take a room with a view to the sea), maybe a little (too) expensive in the high season, I would have rated it 3*, but the staff really made the difference to put it above average (4*)…[TripAdvisor]

Split Infinity Pool at the Morning Star Hotel, St. Thomas

Noella playing about by the pool at Morning Star hotel.

The Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort in St. Thomas, Carribean is a special place, especially when your little-ones get to enjoy themselves.

Just watch out for giant lizzards, as one guest recommends:

We stayed at Morning Star from Oct. 15-25 for our honeymoon. I was a bit concerned given some of the previous reviews, but let me assure you that this is a wonderful place to stay! The room at Morning Star was very nice, and we had a nice ocean view and a short walk to the beach. We spent most of our days at the pools, and found both to be great, with nice lounge chairs and umbrellas to provide shade. Both pools also have iguanas, which we found fun, but some guests were quite alarmed by them (they’re 2 to 3 feet long and some have learned to approach guests to get fruit from their drinks!), so if you are scared of big lizards, be aware that they are around the pools, on the sidewalks and outdoor stairs, etc…[TripAdvisor]

Miss Commonwealth Scotland in the Hotel Pool

When you win the pageant title “Miss Commonwealth Scotland”, you can be sure that your schedule is going to get tied up pretty quick.

Amanda-Jane Taylor can attest to the pace of whirlwind tours after achieving celebrity. And what does Miss Commonwealth Scotland do to relax and reflect on her success?

A swim and spa at the luxury Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen, Scotland of course.

Coup News Close to Home in a Thai Hotel Swimming Pool

Hua Hin. Thailand, September 2006

When travellers visit distant lands for business or pleasure, sometimes they will find themselves experiencing major events first-hand.

This image captures an interesting moment; Thailand’s political coup on September 19, 2006. This guest is reading a Thai newspaper with a local headline that made news around the world.

Fresh Coconut in the Hotel Pool

Christian, featured above, is drinking fresh coconut in his hotel swimming pool at the intimate Alang-Alang Boutique Beach Hotel in Lombok, Indonesia. We have to admit that we weren’t very savvy when it came to coconut milk, so we did a little research:

“…Coconut milk is a sweet, milky white cooking base derived from the meat of a mature coconut. The term “coconut milk” can also refer to the watery liquid found inside the nut. This liquid, when found in a young coconut, is more unambiguously referred to as “coconut water” or “coconut juice”. In Malaysia and Indonesia coconut milk is called santen…[wikipedia]”

We spent a wonderful 6 nights at this beautiful little piece of paradise! the room was delightful with spectacular views of the sunsets. But what made our stay perfect was the service! The staff made us welcome from the very start, got to know us by name, greeted us every day with such warmth and hospitality, we didn’t feel a need to leave the place!! lovely touches included a plate of fruit salad mid-morning, by the pool, and a fresh coconut to drink from. i would recommend this lovely intimate hotel to anyone!…[more]

Infinity Hotel Pool in Koh Tao

Koh Tao is a small island off the southern coast of Thailand, not far from the better known (but more crowded) Koh Samui. It is a small tropical island with a rich jungle in the centre and surrounded by quiet, palm tree laced beaches.

It doesn’t take much imagination to feel the serene pleasure that Ditte & Birgitte are feeling in the image above at the Ko Tao Resort.

Allegra Hotel Pool in Turkey

Thanks to Mester for these amazing images from the Allegro Hotel in Kalkan. Stunning vistas and personal, intimate service to match:

The Allegra is a fantastic hotel in a great location not too far from Kalkan centre. The rooms are spacious and stylish. All face the sea and have unforgettable views. Although everything about this hotel is excellent, the ‘infinity’ pool that appears to merge with the clear blue sea below is perhaps its most impressive feature. The owners Christine and Tayfun are perfect hosts and we would definitely recommend this friendly hotel to anyone visting Kalkan…[more]

The Pool at Capotaormina Hotel, Italy

Our favorite images here at HotelSplash.com are those with hotel guests enjoying themselves in the pool, and gorgeous vistas where swimming pools overlook oceans.

Luckily for us, we get to see both in this terrifc image! Enjoy this capture of a guest enjoying himself at the Capotaormina Hotel in Taormina, Italy:

We had a large room with a balcony overlooking Mt. Etna. It’s worth paying extra for the view. Breakfasts were great. Dinner at their beach restaurant was wonderful and reasonably priced. Entertainment is limited. Just a piano player at the beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean.

Drinks are very expensive though. Access is not easy. There is a limited shuttle bus up to Taormina which takes 10 minutes. However also a local bus across the street or taxis. There is a nice beach and pool. However the pool is on the south side and it is difficult to get shade…[more]

Hotel Pool from Paris Tower

Only the most snobbish people could dislike this hotel. It is very odd to me that Paris is not considered 5 Star. I like romance and I love dating my wife and our stay at Paris brought me so much closer to her. Our baby is due in February and I’m already thinking about a babysitter so we can go back because we have so much more to see and write about. Enjoy! …[more]

Shompole Resort - Great Rift Valley, Kenya

Situated on the side of the Nguruman escarpment, overlooking the stunning expanse of the Great Rift Valley, Kenya - Shompole Lodge is positioned ideally to make the most of both an incredible view and the cool breeze.

Shompole Lodge is located in southern Kenya on the Tanzanian border near soda Lakes Natron and Magadi. The Lodge is located on the edge of the Nguruman Escarpment overlooking the Great Rift Valley, Kenya.

Constructed to emphasise the beauty of natural materials combined with flowing water and smooth white walls, the camp is truly an unusual and exquisite place:

This pool was in addition to our pool in the room and was JUST for two rooms’ guests (4 people) this was the most amazing ‘resort hotel’ i have ever seen, we had an open ‘room’ overlooking the shompole game reserve. there were no walls to the room, but there was a 12′ x 12 ” bed with a fountain as a headboard, a dining room, a lounge, open shower, plunge pool and the best views on earth - so we took advantage.

What an incredible place!
