Spencer is a traveller and hotel maven. He’s also a hotel bed jumper!
When Spencer was recently staying at the swank Ritz Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong he snapped some images of the pool area for us to enjoy. Check out the serious urban view to this outdoor oasis!
A small and discreet hotel in the heart of the city’s art and business precinct, the Adelphi is recognized as an award-winning architectural icon of Melbourne.
At the Adelphi, less is more, and it is essential that you have experienced something special, something refreshing and something very different.
Only kids, and visitors from the north, would dare the pool in December. The temperature, according to the radio a few mintues before this picture was taken reported a temperature near 60 degrees (fahrenheit). The photographer, a local, was wearing a big sweater and wool pants! No wonder the kids stayed close to the hot tub!
Resort hotel swimming pools usually feature gorgeous views of the surrounding terrain or the local beach. The pool is a means of relaxing and enjoying one’s stay, but the view is often the central feature.
At the Lan-Sei Water Resort in the Philippines, the family-friendly resort swimming pools themselves are a central feature of the guest experience.
Check out Kris, Josh, Bryan and Beth enjoying their aqua adventures below.
Some hotel guests prefer to lounge in a serene, secluded resort setting far away from other guests. And then there are guests who savor the congestion of an urban oasis where one can see and be seen.
Check out the deck-side pool action at Miami Beach’s Delano Hotel, part of the Morgans Hotel Group.
The pool itself is not big but more for posers than anything practical. However, there are beds surrounding the pools which you can laze on and the waiters constantly check if you’re ok for drinks. If you don’t fancy the hotel pool, you can walk onto the private beach area which has free double sun beds for you to catch some sun…[TripAdvisor]
…The best part is the water park. It only has two real slides, but it’s a ton of fun. They also have a sea water pool that has a ton of fish. You snorkel through it and it’s like being in a big fish tank. People even can look through windows at you. The beach is not all that great because it is so shallow and you have to have something on your feet. This place is perfect for families and the staff is so much fun….[TripAdvisor]
There is nothing like taking a running leap into a warm pool on a freezing day. Montreal has its share of freezing days, and this steamy pool at the Hilton Bonaventure looks inviting enough. Of course with no guests actually in the pool in the image above, perhaps this day was just a little too cold.
Marshall McLuhan, Canadian philosopher and scholar is rumoured to have swum here. In case you don’t know, McLuhan is well-known for coining the expressions “the medium is the message” and the “global village”.
There are specific things that we look for when we post hotel swimming pool photos on HotelSplash.com. Cool looking rooftop vistas, dreamy looking facilities, exotic places, exotic hotel guests enjoying the hotel pool…things like that.
Sometimes we get lucky and find all of these things in one image - like this photo taken at the Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok.
My partner and I stayed at the Banyan Tree from the 8th October for 3 nights. Being a travel agent I am very fussy when it comes to hotel and like things to be executed ‘just so’ and I have to say I was blown away by the Banyan Tree.
The hotel is not the newest but is lovingly maintained and I got the impression that the staff are all justifyably pleased of their establishment…[TripAdvisor]
On our trip to KC we stayed in this great hotel with a pool. The kids thought it was so cool to swim outside when it was cold.
Nothing can stop kids from being kids. Luckily, hotels located in “non-tropical” climates recognize this so they often make sure that the kids get to enjoy their outdoor pool facilities 365 days a year.
Greece is a must-see country. It is a place where cultural pride abounds, locals are eager to showcase their expansive history, and there are thousands of sites just waiting to be discovered by you.
It’s also a place to kick back and enjoy a few hours in the hotel swimming pool.
Guam is officially the “U.S. Territory of Guam”, and is a tropical paradise in the Mariana Islands of Micronesia in the Western Pacific Ocean. The Guam Reef Hotel boasts a sensational infinity pool perched on a cliff above the beach. Water cascading over the edge blends (at the right angle) into slow moving tides of Tumon Bay.
The hotel staff were very accomodating and friendly. They had good food and a wonderful view of the ocean. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. The rooms were well kept. The view from my room was just incredible. The next time I go to Guam, I will not have second thoughts checking in this hotel again…[TripAdvisor]
Ok, you probably had to be there to enjoy this, but sit back and imagine yourself in on the construction of the $250 million hotel, Hyatt Regency at Poipu Beach, Kauai about 1990. It is not done yet, and you get to go see where the beautiful lagoons and swimming area will be when they are done. Suddenly your ex, when he wasn’t your ex yet, and your daughter (Anna Leigh’s mommy) pretend they are fish swimming through the water that isn’t there yet. It wasn’t very long after that this was completed, and Hurricane Iki came along and did considerable damage to it, but I understand it did not get totaled. You are not likely to ever witness a shot like this again in that spot.
