The hotel was far better than we imagined, yes it is described as being five stars but we paid under two thousand pounds for the whole holiday including an upgrade and hotel before we departed, my personnel view is “cheap as chips”.

Some people have ridiculed the pool, yes there are odd twigs and leaves floating around but the staff work tirelessly on the pool, beach and surrounding gardens in soaring heat to keep them looking there best….[more]

We just can’t believe how different things are in Europe sometimes, compared to North America. Take, for example, this outdoor hotel swimming pool in Amsterdam. We are simply shocked that the hotel has not posted any “No Diving” signs!

Christian, featured above, is drinking fresh coconut in his hotel swimming pool at the intimate Alang-Alang Boutique Beach Hotel in Lombok, Indonesia. We have to admit that we weren’t very savvy when it came to coconut milk, so we did a little research:

We spent a wonderful 6 nights at this beautiful little piece of paradise! the room was delightful with spectacular views of the sunsets. But what made our stay perfect was the service! The staff made us welcome from the very start, got to know us by name, greeted us every day with such warmth and hospitality, we didn’t feel a need to leave the place!! lovely touches included a plate of fruit salad mid-morning, by the pool, and a fresh coconut to drink from. i would recommend this lovely intimate hotel to anyone!…[more]

Koh Tao is a small island off the southern coast of Thailand, not far from the better known (but more crowded) Koh Samui. It is a small tropical island with a rich jungle in the centre and surrounded by quiet, palm tree laced beaches.

It doesn’t take much imagination to feel the serene pleasure that Ditte & Birgitte are feeling in the image above at the Ko Tao Resort.

mykonos was unreal. the place was so relaxing and beautiful all around. i highly recommend vienoula’s garden hotel. this is dani and i in the hotel pool. out of all the hotels we stayed in on our holiday, we felt most at home here.

The Allegra is a fantastic hotel in a great location not too far from Kalkan centre. The rooms are spacious and stylish. All face the sea and have unforgettable views. Although everything about this hotel is excellent, the ‘infinity’ pool that appears to merge with the clear blue sea below is perhaps its most impressive feature.
