This bed at the Buchanan Arms Hotel in Drymen, Scotland (by Loch Lomond) is so busy that it took me three views to notice there is actually a guest in this image.
And check out the old-school telephone at bedside!
We enjoy featuring what we refer to as bed origami on HotelBedHQ.com. However, we don’t want our viewers to forget the traditional origins of origami. Or was it original traditions?
Regardless, enjoy this traditional accoutrement featured during turndown in this hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Gorgeous!
Singapore’s New Majestic Hotel opened in 2006 with 30 unique rooms designed by prominent artists and designers. Showcasing a mix of vintage and new furniture, the rooms adhere to different themes from the ‘Hanging Bed Room’ where murals span whole walls through to the incredible Aquarium Room where a glass-encased bathtub sits in the middle of the room.
The Hotel Majestic was built by 34-year old former lawyer Loh Lik Peng, the man behind the cult boutique Hotel 1929. Loh Lik Peng was recently voted Singapore’s tourism entrepreneur of the year.
Not too bad for a former brothel turned fab property (They said that the hotel is on a street interestingly nicknamed “mistress street”) The room had psychedelic female form as a headboard and a flat screen tv at the foot of the bed. I just felt that the lavatories and showers should still be in a separate room… but i felt the best part of the room (aside from the free keihls products) was the fab outdoor tub…[TripAdvisor]

Some dogs get all the luck. Especially when they check into a hotel that takes such good care of them that any guest would be envious!
Last month we featured Aurelia and Ducati lounging at the Westin Hotel in Portland with Eric, who sent in an image.
Check out these two high-flying pooches in action again, this time at Portland’s upscale Vintage Plaza Hotel.
Okay you’ve seen these two canines before. Aurelia and Ducati, our ex-racing greyhounds, were welcome at the dog friendly Vintage Plaza. The shenanigans started as soon as we checked in. The room had a doggy bag full of treats and toys for our hounds, including the stuffed dog buddy. “Dog bed?”, my precious hounds thought to themselves, “But where are you going to sleep, Dad?”

What a Fantastic Place. We stayed here for 4 nights in October and it was fantastic. It did rain hard the entire time we were there and we still had a great time. Great Service and a very relaxing resort. This is a more traditional Tahiti resort than some of the new Mega Resorts but they have the service down better than anyone in Tahiti. I travel a lot to Tahiti and have stayed at all the hotels and between this hotel and Le Tahaa you can not find better service.
The rooms are traditional Tahitian but very comfortable. No tv’s but they all have AC. CD players in each room and very very comfortable beds. Great crab cakes at the beach bar and some actually good drinks for FP standards. A must visit if you want to get away from it all. Its also nice to be on the mainland versus a motu resort. You can avoid all the shuttle hassels…[TripAdvisor]

Many old hotels are being renovated; this one, with its gold carpet, chenille bedspread and office lamps hasn’t gotten there yet.
Cutting-edge hotel designs and luxury guest amenities aren’t for everyone. Some guests prefer quaint hotels with a “quaint” room rate that offer an experience from a bygone era. The Calvert Hotel in Lewistown, Montana offers just such an experience.
Half of the hotel’s 45 rooms have private baths and color television. The other “22.5″ rooms have a bath down the hall. TV is, of course, available in the lobby. No telephones are available in guestrooms but a public phone and “answering phone” is available at front desk.
And if you feel passionate enough about a traditional Montana hotel experience, you can purchase the hotel for $330K.

Ah yes, the glorious rollaway bed. The bedding of last choice for hotel guests around the world. With hotel brands putting such a focus on building a better bed, the gap between “plush sleep system” and “you get the cot” has grown even wider.
Brands like Starwood’s Westin Hotels & Resorts have attempted to improve the cot-bed experience by developing the Heavenly Rollaway, but no matter how much better it is than the old cot, the new cot is still, well, a cot. And it’s still the youngest, newest, loudest or least confrontational member of the hotel travel party that gets the pleasure of strapping in.
The bed, with flowers for our anniversary.
HotelBedHQ.com often features hotel beds with a view. And sometimes, the hotel bed IS the view. Enjoy these romantic bed accents at a resort hotel in Khao Lak, Thailand. Thai housekeeping departments really do take good care of their hotel guests.
We never get enough of cutesy, romantic bed treatments. Flower pedals, towel origami, turndown service…and Thailand seems to be a hotbed of hot beds.
