W Hotels, Starwood’s uber-contemporary boutique hotel group isn’t quite so “boutiquey” any more. The company is growing fast, and has developed many larger size properties not typical of the boutique segment.

W Hotels still has a certain “edge” to it though, and it remains one of the most successful brand launches in the history of hotels for its unique and strong brand identity and successful positioning.
