Hotel-Speak for Turn Baby Turn
This mattress is only valid for three months of the year.
The hotel trade is riddled with “insider” vocabulary that sounds very foreign to hotel guests.
Sometimes hotel terms can be downright misleading — words like VD (vacant-dirty guestroom), or PMS (property management system) can easily be misunderstood to those outside of the industry.
Even little tricks that hoteliers use to help employees perform their jobs can confuse guests, such as the three-month label shown in the image above, meant to let housekeeping know when to “flip or turn” the mattress to distribute weight evenly - much like rotating tires on your car.
