Zurich : best city in the world?
Back in April, the Mercer’s survey for "overall ranking for quality of living" ranked Zurich again as the world’s top city. link
I also read in monocle that they ranked Zurich as no.3 on their top 20 liveable cities.
So seems like Zurich is a very nice place to live. Well lucky i live here then (heh).
I agree to some extent on the ranking (not sure if no.1 spot out of the whole world is correct) I can think off the top of my head, a few other places I would rather live (New York, Singapore, Hong kong, London)
But then, I am probably not the "norm" or the average 2.2 family whom these ratings are created for.
I can say that Zurich is probably the safest city i have lived in. And safety ranks high up there for me (and for these surveys). But i find Zurich extremely expensive too (Mercer ranks it the 9th most expensive city in the world) . Plus if you don't speak German or Swiss German, it can be a problem too. Granted , Zurichers speak English fairly well, so for business this won't be a problem. But if you want to mix with the locals, it helps to learn some German
