As every year, there will also be an ice-skating rink in 2008 to transform Zürich into a Christmas wonderland. Just like last year, the skating rink is at the Lake Side Casino Zürichhorn. The entrance is free of charge and skates can be rented.

Unlike many other major cities of the world, Zurich's shops close on a Sunday.
But come the christmas season, there are special sunday openings
Sunday shopping: December 7 and 21, 2008: 11:00 am – 6 pm, December 24 and 31, 2008: open until 4 pm, January 2, 2009: open until 8 pm. Don't wait till the last minute to get those christmas gifts!

Every year there is a singing choir which forms a human christmas tree near the Bahnhofstrasse.
THere is a different choir each day representing the various charities, groups, churches around Zurich.
Have a pop down and enjoy the free caroling!

Every year there is a running race throughout Zurich old town. Approx 16,000 runners are expected to participate this year.
The race has different categories ranging from advanced to families with children and students
With the weather turning icy cold last week, let's hope it warms up a little on Dec 14th. from 1.4 to 9.8 km. There is also another race on New Years Eve

it will be a cosy place to eat, shop, have a warm mug of gluhwein and gaze in awe at the famous swarovski christmas tree.
