Ethiopian food is one of those kinds of food that I’ve heard about, I had once many years ago, but I don’t really have any opinion about it. So when I showed up at drinks last night for a friend’s birthday and she announced that we were eating Ethiopian food, I was delighted. I enjoy trying new kinds of food and she and her fiancé swore that this ...

In Amsterdam, you can often see people walking down the street eating out of what looks like a to-go Chinese container with chopsticks. It seems rather odd that people are eating their leftovers on the way home; until you actually taste the food. The containers are coming from different wok restaurants, but all carry basically the same name: Wok to Walk, Wok to Home, Wok to Work, Wok to Go ...

True to our word we headed back to the Saloon to try their burgers. Paired with a couple of bloody mary's and our friend, John, it turned out to be a pleasant Saturday afternoon. They were as good as they looked.

After sushi and a couple of bottles of sake on Friday night, Scott and I decided we wanted to make another stop before calling it a night. Last week Scott and I booked a city canal cruise for ex-pats. We decided it would be a great way to meet people in the area who were also new. The meeting place was The Hard Rock Café. We were a little put off by the spot since it seems to be a tourist hotspot and not one that we would go to without a reason.
When we arrived we were ...

Let's face it. Amsterdam can be loud. The trams whiz by within feet of foot traffic, the canals are home to honking motor boats, and at any time a tour-guide is screaming while describing the city so everyone in the group can hear. Amsterdam is full of lights, noise, and most importantly, energy. Even the short-time visitor may need an oasis to ...

As an ex-New Yorker bagels have became a part of my mornings. I have to have my toasted puppy seed bagel with lox spread. Ahhh!!! Now imagine my exhilliration when one morning I was running to work (yep running late on my first day!) and practically ran into a BAGEL SHOP! Seriously, it is situated in the corner of Stromarkt and Singel really close ...
