Seeing Green
After dinner at one of our favorite Indian restaurants, Ghandi, Scott and I went for a walk down Damrak. We love turning down tiny alleys off of the main street to explore what gems may be hidden. On this night, we saw a place called De Kroon. I thought I remembered reading about it so I wanted to stop (as it turns out, I was reading about a restaurant with the same name, not the coffee shop which we were standing in front of).We walked in and were amazed by the décor. Everything was glowing green. We were standing in a leafless rainforest. We walked up to the bamboo counter and ordered a strawberry looza for each of us (looza is a brand of juice and strawberry is by far the best flavor) and took a seat on one of the wooden built in table/chair sets. The music turned out to be an eclectic and fun mix. The atmosphere is warm and calming. It turned out to be a nice and relaxing evening; exactly what we expected from a little alley in Amsterdam.
