Photography, coffee & U in Athens
I’m such a fan of the downtown area of Athens and since my favorite cappuccino is served at Clemente VIII (ask for it with chocolate), I found myself there yesterday… and today sipping coffee. Unbeknown to me, however was a delightful surprise awaiting all passersby just down the alleyway known as Spiromiliou at City Link (Stadiou 4). There is a fabulous photography exhibit called “wild nature” which displays the work of world photographers from this year’s photo competition. Each photo is backlit displaying the most unique and intriguing poses of both animals and insects. The colors are amazing and I found myself asking more than once how someone seized that moment. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll be in a happy place.
My favorites are:
1. The three penguins whom I’m sure were in the middle of a fight over who’s girlfriend she really is…
2. The lime green frog that looks like the Gyko lizard… and
3. The giant turtle (we’ll call him Crush) with all the pretty little fish cleaning him
The exhibit ends May 13th, so grab your coffee to go and check out our little friends around the planet.
