L'Occitane Beauty Store

As you wander through the streets of Paris you will probably come across plenty of L'Occtaine Stores. The last time I was in Paris, I stopped into one and browsed about-partly because I was staying on Ile St. Louis where there was a store. It was easy to be wandering home in the evenings and stopping into the store. The store has its origins in Province. ...

Berthillion Ice Cream

Summer time has arrived and it is time to enjoy some ice cream. When I think of Paris, ice cream is not the first thing that comes to mind. In fact I would never consider Paris to be an ice cream haven-gelato in Italy yes, delicious pastries in Paris.
For years I have heard about Berthillion and always just shrugged it off. When I was in Paris ...

What are the French thinking?

I am not quite sure if I understand the French.  Just a few weeks ago, Parisians were making international headlines, with their demonstrations of the Olympic torch being run through the streets of Paris. Now that the world is no longer watching and the torch is who knows where in the world, Gallerie Layfayette, has set up an Asian display in it's front window as a countdown to the Oympics ...

Forbidden Fruit at the Louvre: Apple Store to open at the Louvre

Will the Mona Lisa be temped like Eve to take a bite of the forbidden fruit.  Steve Jobs must be estactic, he will be tempting Parisians alike, male and female to enjoy his Apple.  Carrousel du Louvre will be home to the first Apple store in Paris.

After many months of speculation and hoping for an address on Les Champs Elysees Apple will finally have a spot.  Jobs was unsuccessful at finding a ...

The Sales are on in Paris

Paris stores have sales twice a year.  For reasons unknown to me the sales are regulated by the government.

Their winter sales started on January 9th and will continue until February 16th.  While the euro may be strong against the US dollar this is your time to get out there and find some sales.

E. Dehillerin

img_0570.JPG

I cannot say that I was ever a huge Julia Childs fan.  There was no reason for not being a fan, but nothing about her ever inspired me.  Then one day I was at the library and saw her book, My Life in France.  It was about cooking and France so what else needed to be said.

I was hooked from ...

Jeff de Bruges Chocolate

Every trip to Paris is worthy of a stop into a chocolate shop.  You can hardly go a block without smelling the scent of cocoa in the air.

img_0098.JPG
Quite simply I love chocolate.  If asked to tell you why I like one chocolate over another my response would probably be it simply tastes better.  I discovered Jeff de Bruges Chocolates a ...

It is officially the first working day of the New Year and many of you are heading back to work.  Before the Christmas decorations start coming down and all signs of Christmas and packed away for another 11 months I wanted to share with you some store fronts in Paris.
