French up in Arms over Skinniness
Paris is the fashion capital of the world with its svelte models and haute couture clothing. A few years ago much was made of the fact that models are exceptionally thin. And encouraged to be this way. The French are now considering of passing a law that would fine or imprison anyone who encourages or promotes anorexia. The French really should give their citizens more credit-to say that looking a photo of a thin model is going to promote bad eating habits is pretty unbelievable. Then why have attractive models in magazines at all-this may lead to bad self esteem. I am short there is no nice way of saying it. I need a stool to get into my upper cupboards and everything I purchase must be altered. However does looking at a tall model affect me. NO.
I am not a doctor but give your citizens some credit.
Regulating everything seems to be an American phenomenon-please do not let the French follow down the path of lawsuits for all.
