Hotel des Deux Iles Paris
I had mentioned earlier that I was in Paris earlier in the month. The original plan was to rent an apartment however due to circumstances beyond my control I showed up in Paris and the apartment was unavailable.
I was in a near panic. I had already paid for the apartment and did not have a hotel reservation. I had intentionally chosen to stay on Ile Saint Louis. It is a quaint residential island located behind Ile de Cite. There is no metro stop on the island however two Pont Marie and Notre Dame are within walking distance.
Faced with my new dilemna I sought refuge at the Hotel des Deux Iles. The hotel is a three star hotel and quite comfortable. While the rooms are small and would probably be a little crowded for two persons it was perfect for me. With wood beam ceilings and windows that either open onto a courtyard or rue Saint Louis the hotel is quite quaint.
There is free internet service in the basement which is very convenient. Breakfast is served in the basement. I would pass on breakfast as for $11 euros you receive some fruit a croissant and tea or coffee and a yogurt. There are three bakeries on the island where you could get your breakfast.
What could have been a disaster turned into a lovely stay. I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Paris.
Their address is 59 rue Saint Louis.
