Hotel Esmeralda on the Left Bank

Finding a hotel in any major city is always a challenge.  Finding a reasonably priced hotel in Paris is a major challenge.  Hotel Esmeralda has been around for ages.  It's claim to fame is probably that Vogue Magazine puts it's employees up here for Fashion Week.  I stumbled upon the hotel years ago when I was backpacking through Europe.  I am not suggesting that it is a backpackers hotel by ...

Metro Strike In Paris

Today is the first day of a French national pastime, striking!!! The French are fantastic at striking-I would not be surprised if they invented the concept.  Madame Currie and Napoleon plotted together in a lab in Corsica and from a test tube came the concept of the strike.  The strike will effect the metro, RER and SNCF lines.  It starts today and should end by Sunday.

ParisNet Apartment Rentals

100_0024.JPG

I will be visiting Paris for the holidays and did not want to stay in a hotel.  The exhange rate is much too high and the thought of having my own apartment and running to the local boulangerie each morning quite appeals to me.  One of my friends had recently rented an apartment in Barcelona and had quite great success with ...
