Saving on Foreign Transaction Fees

Oftentimes when travelling to Europe larger bills are paid for with a credit card.  While the convenience of the card is great, a three percent foreign transaction charge is charged to Mastercard and most Visa cards charge 2.5 percent.

Capital One Bank offers a no fee visa card that does not charge a foreign transaction fee. This will save you money in the long run.

Da Vinci Code Facts

Authors have been attracted to Paris throughout the years.  Victor Hugo set two of his novels in Paris, using famous landmarks as his setting.

With the Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown has sparked a new wave of tourism to other sites in Paris, the Louvre and St. Sulpice Church.  Thanks to the novel, 800,000 more visitors went to the Louvre last year.  St. Sulpice Church saw an increase of 300,000 visitors.

Great Crepe Stand

When visting Paris, no trip is complete without savouring a crepe.  Two of the more popular crepes are the jambon avec fromage (ham and cheese) and the nutella crepe avec banana (nutella chocolate spread with bananas).  Nutella on its own is quite the treat.  It is a hazlenut chocolate spread)  Add some bananas and a crepe to it and it is quite divine.

I assure you there will not be a wait to visit the underbelly of Paris' sewage system.  If you can tolerate the smell, this is actually a fascinating tour of the world's second largest sewage system.

the metro stop is Alma-Marceau ...

Gerard Mulot patissier a Saint Germain-des-Pres

Walking into Gerard Mulot's patissier your eyes will be dazzled by the assortment of pastries.  They sit delicately in the display cases like jewels waiting to be placed on a tiara.  Soon your nose will start twitching as your mouth wants to taste everything the baker has to offer.

In addition to pastries, the baker has gourmet deli food and la croissant and baguette.  Bien sur Messieur Mulot c'est un boulanger.  ...

Bienvenue a Paris

Bonjours!

Welcome to Paris, what I believe to be one of the most exciting cities in the world. Only in Paris can you eat great food, drink good wine, see some of the best art the world has to offer, and wander through the streets where some of the world's better known authors gathered their inspiration.

For me Paris is wonderful. The first time I went to Paris was when ...
