Cite de la Musique

dsc03161.JPG

Paris is a city full of "musicians". Usually if you take the metro, you have thick chance of meeting them, mostly they come with accordians,or mouth organs. Sometimes, they play violins and guitars with vocals and without. It is also not unusual to see someone with a big speaker, or Asians with their traditional instruments. If you come to Paris with an image of a Romantic City, these people never disappoint.

Prepare your ears to the familiar La Vie en Rose, Besame Mucho, etc, etc. I even heard America's Star Spangled Banner once... These music are offered for free but do also feel free to donate.

Such musicians, albeit their dubious talent, cheer me up whenever I feel down and lost. They make my journey much more cheerful and memorable as if I was in a movie with a sweet backdrop in each scenes.

Pictured above is no beggars. He's a jazz artist promoting his work by playing live on the pavement near Jardin du Luxembourg. He is also selling his CDs on the spot. I doubt if he has his profile on myspace.com too...
