Cacahuètes- A Nutty Neighborhood Hangout
Cacahuètes- which means peanuts in french- could just as easily be called Pistachios given the shade of green they have chosen for their walls. The interior is bright and welcoming, and more vibrant than your ordinary french café. This neighborhood hangout hosts artshows and concerts given by local artists and has an undeniably seductive corner café feel to it. It's a place you can nurse a glass of wine all afternoon while eavesdropping to hear the local gossip or just settling into the comfy couches in the back. When weather permits, a small terrasse is set up on the sidewalk and, of course, peanuts are served as the apéro during Happy Hour. The menu is simple, with glasses of good wine ranging from 2,80-3,00euro. Ordering fancy drinks here could cause confusion- I once threw them for a loop when I requested that they add Bailey's to my coffee- so stick to the simple pleasures in life, sit back and relax.
