Paris the city of love.... sorry chocolate.
So they say Paris is the city of love... the one place in the world where a simple stroll down a side walk could lead to a marriage proposal. But what is it about this city that makes everyone so crazy with passion? The answer is Paris's best kept secret. Parisian chocolate shops.
Chocolate is known for its aphrodisiac properties and what I believe to be the hidden recipe to falling in love in this city. There is an abundance of chocolate shops on offer in Paris and its no wonder that love is always in the air.
If you enjoyed the movie 'chocolat' as much as I did you will not be dissapointed visiting one of these unique stores. The experience of selecting a quality hand crafted chocolate should not be underestimated and is, in my opinion of life simple pleasures.
A visit to a chocloate shop in Paris can be an extremely memorable one. Be amazed by the creativity and arrangement of chocolate displays in store windows. A must visit is 'La Fontaine au Chocolat' where an actual chocolate fountain churns the chocolate. The flowing rythmic stream of hot liquid pours deliciously into a thick pool of chocolate. My mouth waters remembering the smells and the yearning sensation to throw myself in, it was at that moment I knew I had to try this chocolate. The most inviting, welcoming aromas of melting chocolate only heightened this expereince. The taste satisfying every taste bud and so.... my love affair with chocolate and Paris began.
