Lots Road Pub

lotsroadchelsea.jpg
Hidden away at the bottom of the long and winding Kings Road, there lies Lots Rd- a small street leading down to Chelsea Embankment known to most people for two hot nightclubs, Embargo’s and Crazy Larry’s, a favourite amoungst the eclectic mix of youth. Although, only through somewhat hazy vision. In amongst the old factories that line the river, the random ...

London Luau 007

London Luau 007

June 11, 2007

The main event of the weekend was an actual Hawaiian-style luau on Saturday night at Trader Vic’s, replete three bands, two DJs, one suckling pig per table and plenty of gleeful imbibers clad in loud floral-print aloha wear.

Angel of the North

angel-wings-islington-n1-centre.jpg I find that other London travel guides tend to miss out on the really good stuff. They focus on the obvious Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Royal Albert Hall, London Eye, some areas can very easily get missed.

North London is very trendy, thus making it popular with hip young professionals and has all the entertainment ...

Jazzwise Festival

Posted by Celine

We're smack in the middle of it, but believe me, if I had known earlier, I would have posted this earlier. That said, you can still catch the second half of this jazz festival:

Denying the Nineties with Fascination

Thanks to the recommendation of a close friend (you know who you are), I found myself this past Thursday at the Betsey Trotwood listening to a band's debut performance. The show was about an hour. Every song delivery solid. The audience of mostly mid-thirties Londoners bopped about with glee, with everybody appearing to be really glad to relive some very fun memories.Free one inch badges ...

South London Pacific's Vintage 'n' Retro market

Although I'm not a regular reader of All Women's Talk, I thought it worth mentioning this post about South London Pacific and retro fashion:

Wondering why you can't get into Mahiki?

This clip of Guy Ritchie and Madonna leaving the popular Mayfair club might have something to do with it:

A little slice of Mexico

pic_about.jpg

One of those gripes people always seem to have about London is its lack of truly good Mexican food. I've followed recommendation after recommendation only to be left angry and bitter at the end of the evening.

And then I found Crazy Homies.
It was a pure accident really. Wandering the streets of Westbourne Grove in search of Taqueria - another Mexican, whichI'd been advised to try, ...

(you have to get there about 11.0'clock for lunch to have a chance of sitting down immediately).  the food is out of this world...  i was about ...
