Queen’s Message to the King of Thailand
The Queen has sent a message to Thailand's King Bhumibol wishing him a quick recovery from his current illness. The King was admitted to Siriraj hospital in Bangkok on October 11, 2007 after experiencing weakness on the right side of his body. This was caused by an inadequate flow of blood to the left cerebral cortex of the brain, the team of royal physicians said.
The British monarch's message was delivered Thursday, October 25 by British ambassador Quinton Mark Quayle. Praising the close relations between two royal institutions, Queen Elizabeth said she hoped the Thai king would recover soon and fully perform his duties again.
