Dear Chris:

I am impressed! (And, a tad-bit/byte jealous) 108 Blogs. You're the #1 man on our BLOG Team! I'm in the top 10, also, but 108...I just may take those numbers and play them in Chicago's Daily 3 Lottery and see if I win! If so, I'll put that money away for my next trip to JOE: Jolly Old England!

BTW: I have 2 friends in London. Perhaps you know them. The first is Neville Shulman who is an author of several books. One is called: SOME LIKE IT COLD; another is the ZEN of Climbing Mountains - not of Mountain Climbing (it deals with the hurdles a person faces every day (as well as being an explorer to both the North & South Poles and a variety of other exotic locations across the world). He's quite a guy. He also was Cat Stevens (the 60s rocker) personal manager decades ago.

The other is Neil Watson who is the Editor-in-Chief of Kennedy's Confections, the oldest Sweets Publication in Europe. Neil travels to every Confectionery Show in Europe. His publication is definitely worth checking out. If you want to do a BLOG piece on either of my friends, I can supply their email address to you as both Gentlemen are extremely interesting.

BEING NIT-PICKY NOW:

I beg to dicker now, Chris, but how can you see that:

London crime at an eight-year low

If I remember correctly on July 7, 2005, London had one of the worst terrorist bombings in history. I live in Chicago --- which has been known as 'Al Capone Country.' Even when I traveled to Europe years ago and people would ask me where I was from & I stated 'Chicago' - they commented that the city has gangsters from those Prohibition Days of old. Now, the world is saturated in Terrorists, which to me is worse yet since they just do not fight war like they did during WW 2. At least, you knew WHO the enemy was 'back then.' These days a 10 year old kid can be strapped to dynamite and there goes an entire marketplace.

I would say there must be an upcoming election in London for the Metropolitan Police to come out with Stats as you had stated in your header:

Or perhaps the Queen is anticipating an influx of foreign travelers to visit since Summer will be here in a matter of 6 weeks. What I will give you credit for is that when I visited London in April of 1978, I walked back to my Bed & Breakfast in Earl's Court at 11 PM. I walked over a bridge; it was quite foggy out and a man approached me. He kept on walking, but I had no idea if he spelled out trouble for me or not. For some reason, I was NOT afraid. This was a very nice feeling.

I had a great time in JOE and even got to visit Stonehenge and had Tea at 3 PM. There are quite a few similarities between London & Chicago --- as we both have a Hyde Park and a Richard Branson's MegaStore (ours is located on Michigan Avenue). And in a few short days, Sir Richard will be flying his Virgin Airlines rite into O'Hare --- which will signal an historical even in airline history, linking Mid-America to the British Commonwealth!

Pretty cool...whether there's a lull in crime or not...Life goes on, as it should!

Again, CHRIS, congrats on your HIGH SCORE! Maybe The Queen will knight you next for your Literary Accomplishments.

Cheerio & Pip,
