British Airways staff to go on three -day strike
The travell industry in the United Kingdom and around the world will experience a halt in activities, following an impending three day strike to be staged by British Airways cabin crew staff.Customers of the travell giant, who have already planned to travell duringthe period ,could be left dissapointed and stranded if nothing is done to stop this impending stike action. Following the inability of it"s management to resolve staff complaints, about staffing ,pay and sickness absence,it"s workers have decided to press further their demands by going off duty from work for three days. The Stewards and Stewardesses are threatening to boycott work from 29th to 31st of January. This could leave travellers stranded and dissapointed. Many of the staff members voted for a strike action to be taken and according to the transport and General Workers Union , there could be further 2 to 3 more days of striking in February if the issues raised by the staff are not resolved. In a move to see if something could be done, British Airways bosses called in conciliation service Acas.Jack Dromey, the General Workers Union deputy secretary said that there has to be a will on both feuding sides to get the issues resolved.Willie Walsh the company"s Chief Executive in a radio 4"S programme said that threatening it"s customers is not the way to move forward. An adage says that, when two elephants fight, the grasses will definitely suffer. It is British Airway"s customers ,who are planning to travell within the striking period that will definitely suffer if nothing is done to resolve the issues at stake.
