St Pancras now open for fast trains to Europe

Queen’s Message to the King of Thailand


The Queen has sent a message to Thailand's King Bhumibol wishing him a quick recovery from his current illness. The King was admitted to Siriraj hospital in Bangkok on October 11, 2007 after experiencing weakness on the right side of his body. This was caused by an inadequate flow of blood to the left cerebral cortex of the brain, the team of royal physicians said.

Olympic Costs and Crowds


The Olympic stadium for the 2012 London Games will cost £21 million more to build than originally predicted, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has said. The increase is blamed on inflation, VAT and additional earthworks. Earlier the government increased the budget for the Games to ₤9.3 billion.

It is expected that more than 55,000 athletes, officials and media, 500,000 spectators and 120,000 staff and volunteers will be traveling to the Games ...
