It's funny how a sometimes uneventful day on vacation can turn into something rather exciting. I started out the day as per usual by waking up, checking my mail and then hey ya, I watched the Tyra Banks Show. I've not seen her program aired before in Denmark so it was something new and exciting. Then I took my already blistered feet for a forty five minute walk to my ...

The annual Waupoos Fish Fry went off without a hitch at the Rose House Museum. The museum was built in the 1800's and was inhabited by some of the first settlers in the area, the Rose family. I used to work there as a summer student what seems like a lifetime ago so I enjoyed supporting the event and touring the museum again.
Also, my dad and aunt were the dinner entertainment ...

Greetings from Prince Edward County. It's been an extended vacation for me and for the most part my activities have involved relaxing and visiting family and friends. But it has also been riddled with excitement. I won't name names but I went to the local doughnut shop on a usually quiet Sunday Morning. I'll give you a hint. It's the most famous one in town.
After making it quickly through the ...

I'm sailing away in Waupoos the area where I grew up, sailing around in a dingy as I did in my youth but this time amongst the luxury yachts. I've been here for all of July and have been bird watching, playing with the community dog and sun bathing, thus the blogless month.
Waupoos, for those of you who don't know is a growing wine region in Prince Edward County, Ontario. ...

I'm in rural Ontario at the moment enjoying the peace and quiet and in the market for a new canoe! Back in Denmark there is anything but peace and quiet at the moment, as there are plenty of events taking place.
Besides the Roskilde Festival, the Copenhagen Jazz Festival will be in full swing starting July 4th and that will last 10 days. This year they are celebrating the festival's 30 ...

I am just finishing up packing for my trip back to Prince Edward County, Ontario. Seems to me I'm missing the boat with regards to some exciting musical experiences because I scheduled my trip so awkwardly.
For the first, I heard that the Canadian loved Tragically Hip played to around 16,000 people back home in ...

The weather has been looking a little cloudy today but have no fear a solution to combat the dreary day is here. Romeo and Juliet is being performed at The Radio House (Radiohuset) and it's not just your average, run of the mill version of this classic play. 120 young people will be putting a new spin on this timeless story based on Shakespeare's classic tale of love, regret and ...

It looks like I'll be heading back to Prince Edward County, Ontario to visit my family. In fact, it is confirmed I'm leaving next week. I have plenty of time for vacations this summer as some colleagues and myself were given an unexpected, extended vacation. In other words we were let go until further notice.
So, I've decided to turn lemons into lemonade, make the best of it and head home. This ...

People sometimes ask me where they can dine in Denmark to experience a truly traditional Danish meal. My answer is usually McDonalds or Pizza Hut. Oh, that was just a joke of course but maybe not so much. There was a survey conducted here about a year ago where they asked school aged children what an authentic Danish meal consisted of. The most popular answer ended up being "pizza." I ...
