Identityless

Well, I have started to pack for my trip to Thailand. You see, I have faith in the Canadian Embassy and feel in my heart of hearts that my passport problems will be sorted out. All documents and photos will be accepted and completed on time and all will be well in the world again. Next time, I'll start the process much earlier, many, many months ahead of schedule although I don't ...

Copenhagen Fashion Weekend

Before it is over, I thought I'd post something about Copenhagen Fashion Weekend, yes "weekend" not "week." It started today the 6th of February and runs until the 10th of February which will be Sunday.

Visit the Magasin Design Lab in the City Square in Copenhagen. 300 free tickets are being given away starting today in Magasin's Fashion Week Lounge so it's first come, first serve, all for one and one for all.

Don't ...

Copenhagen’s Youth Centre Resurrected

About a year ago, around this time, the infamous ”Ungdomshus” on Jagtvej 69 in Copenhagen was demolished. To make a long story short, the “Ungdomshus” or “Youth Centre” as it’s known, was a haven for outcasts, lost souls and creative sorts looking for a place to hang their hat.

They lived for many years in a house owned by the City of Copenhagen, virtually rule and rent free. The idea that ...

Malmo, Sweden's Copenhagen Connection

300px-turning_torso_3.jpgI'm off to Malmo, Sweden this weekend for a Xmas party. As you can see I'm very excited about it as I've mentioned it three times now.(I don't get out much). I'll be telling you all about it upon my return. In the meantime, I thought I'd find out a little bit more about my destination.

Perhaps many people picture blonde haired, blue eyed Nordic types when they think ...

Christmas Dreams, Copenhagen Style

I'm currently working on a project about globalization and another interesting one about negative family patterns. I'm not sure how these projects are going to end up as they are both looking rather chaotic and non-sensical at the moment. I have been working hard this last week trying to figure out what my point is with both of them which has meant reading, writing and arithmetic. Well, arithmetic as in how ...

From Waupoos to Copenhagen

I arrived back in Copenhagen yesterday, after vacationing in the area where I grew up, Prince Edward County, Ontario Canada. I spent my childhood and some of my adult years in what most people would refer to as "the sticks," in an area known as "Waupoos." Waupoos is an Indian name that means rabbit. The nearest town is Picton with a whopping population of around 4,000. I can remember back ...

Across the Pond

Greetings from beautiful Prince Edward County, Ontario in Canada. This is my hometown and it's still as lovely as ever. In fact, it's getting lovelier by the day. It seems that every time I come there are more and more vineyards, visitors and spas.

Sorry, if I've been a little AWOL from the blog thing. I arrived at Toronto International Airport on Wednesday and have had jet lag ever since. ...

Run, run, run

If you are in Copenhagen today you may wish to check out Denmark's oldest marathon. This is the 39th time this event has taken place. Up to 19,000 people are expected to take part in the 13 kilometre long tour through Dyrehaven (near Copenhagen Alle.) Although it looks like it's too late to participate, it will be quite a sight to see as there could possibly be upwards of 30,000 participants depending ...

Psyched for September

Well, I certainly hope that September goes better than August. I'm not going to lie. I saw the glass half empty in August. I guess it is true when they say "when it rains it pours." I had a series of disappointments, some of which I'd rather not go into. For one, I was supposed to have an article I had written about Thailand published in a cool magazine. I ...

Baltic Sail(s) Off Into the Sunset

Concordia North of Copenhagen lies the historic city of Helsingør and from the 17th to the 19th of August it is the scenic location for the annual Baltic Sail arrangement for the 11th year running. The Baltic Sail arrangement is a gathering point, if you will of a variety of beautiful ships from around the world. It's a glorious display that has been an integral part ...
