Art Stinks...ya ya

rsz_1underarm-sweat.jpgAs I wait patiently for word on my truckster and all its repair glory, I thought I'd write something relevant for Copenhagen. You know, when my truck broke down yesterday I'd actually just came from a job interview? A few days before, the potential employer called me and told me not to wear perfume. They have a strict "no perfume" policy because some people might be allergic to it. I guess one man's scent is another man's stench.

Some people might be put out by this rule but it made no matter to me because I usually don't wear fragrance anyhow. Personally, I am not offended by people overdosing on perfume, but I suppose the smell of someone drowning themselves in cologne would be just as irritating to some people, as smoking is to others, so obviously it's a genuine problem.

That said, if you have an open mind towards odors of all sorts, and can smell the good in all, you might want to visit an unconventional art exhibit, just outside of Copenhagen at the world renowned Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. One of the creative artists will even display 8 anxious men's sweat in the exhibit called, "The World is Yours."

Apparently, Nordic smell artist, Sissel Tolaas asked men from all over the world to donate their sweat to her for this curious project. Sissel has painted two of Louisiana's walls with a smelly white concoction that fills the room with the sweet smell of perspiration. The stench - I mean aroma - is so strong that it lingers into the stairwell, up into the foul smelling room and is said to have a shelf life of 8 years.
