Not Just Skin Deep

Yikes! My dad had always hoped that when I finally grew up, I'd work in the medical field. Already in kindergarten my parents probably suspected this wouldn't be my lot in life. The first guess came as my teacher carried me yelling and screaming to the school nurse for a vaccination shot. Even today, I can't even go for blood tests without closing my eyes and wincing.

If you are not such a wimp, and are curious to see the human body as more than a skin deep endeavour, then you'd probably enjoy peering deep into the heart and soul of individuals, literally. What am I talking about? It's the "Bodies - The Exhibition" live errr..I mean "dead" in Copenhagen.

This exhibition has been seen by millions of people all over the world and is now on its last leg in Copenhagen. This is quite the honour for the Danish capital, as we are fortunate enough to be the only Nordic city slated to display this unusual exhibit.

The exhibit features actual human specimens. No, not wax figures but real human beings, lifeless of course, god rest their souls. This display gives the average Joe an insider's view into the nooks and crannies, or the inner body workings, if you will, of the human body. This creepy, I mean incredible opportunity is usually reserved for medical professionals and cannibals. Bodies - The Exhibition, which is definitely not for the squeamish, runs until January 4th, 2009.
