Viggo Mortensen Live
One of my favourite actors, Danish/American Viggo Mortensen of "Lord of the Rings," fame is in town. Remember him? Of course you do because he played the reluctant hero Aragorn in the world famous trilogy.
Anyhow, he's in Denmark for his birthday and it's a big one but they're all big ones after the age of 25. The good news is that rumour has it that 50 is the new 20. Perhaps a slight exaggeration but no matter, congratulations still goes out to Viggo on being 50 years young. The birthday bash isn't the only reason he is here.
Did you know that besides being an acclaimed actor Viggo is also a talented photographer? On Saturday he'll personally introduce audiences to his display of over 190 photographs he's taken from all over the world. Many images were taken here in Denmark.
Man, I'd love to go to that but I think I may have to work - no rest for the wicked. Other than the photography display & visiting family here, he'll apparently be spending his actual birth date alone in some secret location where he'll meditate and reflect. I'm hoping it's at a fairly obvious place like at the entrance to the woods next door here, fully visible for our peeping eyes. Hah!

Extra,extra! A signing session by the man himself, that's Viggo Mortensen will happen at Roskilde Gymnasium Domkirkepladsen, 4000 Roskilde, between 13.30 and 14.00 on Saturday October 18th as well.
Never fear, all hope is not lost if you can't make it out on Saturday. The display itself will be available (sans Viggo) until November 16th.
