Copenhagen Furniture Festival
We have had record breaking weather here in Ontario. Most people who were lucky enough to have yesterday off enjoyed the sunshine. However today, it is raining like cats and dogs so I'll be using my time to work and watch a little television. That brings me to my next topic.
The commercials for a popular furniture store are on the tele at the moment and they run them like clock work over here. You know the one. Don't pay a cent until 2010! Well, I tried that once and bought a bit too much run of the mill furniture. I lost interest in it so quickly that I never even took the plastic off of the generic couch I purchased.
Anyhow, if you happen to be in the Copenhagen area and have a fetish for stylish furniture you might well enjoy the Copenhagen Furniture Festival. As most of the other types of festivals are tapering down for the season, this particular festival is in full swing this weekend in Copenhagen.
It is happening today until tomorrow the 7th of September from 12:00 p.m. until 17:00 p.m. A festival bus complete with guide drives interested consumers free of charge around to 60 different furniture displays.
The festival gives newer and more established designers the possibility to strut their stuff. Early bird customers may view new and innovative designs that aren't even out in the boutiques yet.
International visitors can join the fun by sending an sms text message called "Festival5" to tel # 45 2444 5053. Danish folks can send an sms text to 1940 with "Festival5". For a map of bus stops and list of furniture display locations. Check out www.copenhagenfurniturefestival.dk/busrute.html
The last bus goes from Stop 1 at 16:30 p.m. today and tomorrow.
