Fashion Festival Fever
Until now, I've mainly mentioned the music only festivals happening in Denmark but there are other types as well, too many to mention. If you are lucky enough to be in Copenhagen this weekend and the weather gods keep blessing us as they have, then you won't want to miss the "Bæredygtig Festival," which roughly translated means "to bear fruit" or "long lasting."
The Butik Fisk (a used clothing boutique) is behind the year's largest and most enduring shopping festival which includes more than 20 "green" boutiques, hair stylists and cafés. Included in this year's display is modern clothing design, exotic art and handworks. In keeping with the environmentally conscious theme there's also ecological coffee beans, ecological curtains and t-shirts for sale.
Besides fashion shows, DJ's and some famous guests are rumoured to attend the event. A highlight of the event happens tomorrow (Saturday) at 14:00 with a 50's inspired fashion show with hot hair to boot, styled by the hair stylist known as "Dojo." Some other participants at this year's festival, just to name a few are Trashprint, Mig og Betty, Café Retro, Freestyle Factory and many more.
