Hats Galore

Excuse moi for not blogging as of late but the computer has been acting a little crazy, daisy. That combined with a bout of the flu hasn't made for a pleasant past few days. I try to eat right and wear a hat when I'm outside in the cold, but still manage to catch the latest flu fad. Better now, than when we're in Thailand, I say.

Since we are on the topic of hats, lately I've been having a little love affair with hats, dreaming hats, breathing hats, packing red, beige and white hats for my trip, and trying to figure out where to buy some more hats. Perhaps I'm an old soul because about a hundred years ago, the ladies and gentlemen of Copenhagen wouldn't dare to step outside of their door without wearing a hat.

In this day and age, it seems to me it would be more of a necessity to wear a hat, especially in the summer months, with the strong UV rays beating down on our heads causing skin damage so quickly. Now, let's not kid ourselves, they also provide a band-aid type, quick and easy solution to those inevitable bad hair days.

But it seems to me that it's not so easy to find a hat that looks a bit different while at the same time fits perfectly. The market is overflowing with standard baseball, beanies and sun caps, but to find something really special one really has to get down into the trenches and search, search, search.

Susanne Juul's Hat Store in Copenhagen is what can be called a hat lover's dream. What a chocolate factory would be to a chocolate lover, Susanne Juul's Hat Store is to hat connoisseurs. The material she uses to create her hats is of the highest quality and all hats are sewn by hand. There are many unique hats in all shapes, sizes and colours; straw hats, felt hats, hats as far as the eye can see and one would be hard pressed to find one that wasn't suitable.

If you don't have any luck finding that perfect hat for you, or would prefer to have something custom designed then that option is available, as well. Susanne Juul has 20 years experience so you'll be dealing with a pro. In fact some of her experience was had at the Royal Danish Theatre where she was employed as a Stylist as well as the experience she has gained with her own boutique, of course.
