Identityless

Well, I have started to pack for my trip to Thailand. You see, I have faith in the Canadian Embassy and feel in my heart of hearts that my passport problems will be sorted out. All documents and photos will be accepted and completed on time and all will be well in the world again. Next time, I'll start the process much earlier, many, many months ahead of schedule although I don't think that should be required, but that's a whole other discussion. It also means that one can't travel anywhere, not even for a quick candy shopping tour over to Sweden. Now, I have a package to pick up at the post office and they require photo ID but guess what? I have sent all of my photo ID off to the Embassy. I have some photocopies hopefully they'll accept those.

You know people who need a new Danish passport must receive it within 14 days. It only makes sense with people travelling for work and pleasure as much as they do. I've been reading stories about Canadians living in the United States who have been waiting months for their passports, mostly because of photo issues. I just talked to one of my friends yesterday about this exact predicament. Apparently, it's a worldwide phenomenon. He was going to Japan to visit his gal pal and had to get his U.K. passport tickity boo and ran into some red tape. So, I've been reading about people's passport dilemmas and I found this funny 2007 article in the Daily Mail about a four month old girl's passport photo challenge. Take a look at the before and after. The government forced this lovely, little girl to change her rockstar, punky image into something a bit more boyish looking.
