Backstreet Boys Back Alright
The finale of Denmark's X factor was shown on TV over the weekend and I will say congratulations to the charming, young Martin who won the popular singing competition. He reminds me a bit of a young Justin Timberlake, physically anyhow, which brings me to the topic of this blog.
The Backstreet Boys are performing in Denmark in April. For those who have been living on the moon and don't know who I am talking about, The Backstreet Boys were one of the 90's most successful male pop groups. You are probably saying, wait a minute Justin Timberlake wasn't a member of The Backstreet Boys. He was a member of the boyband ‘N Sync. Well, I apologize, but I was trying to find a segway into the topic of this blog and this was the best I could do.
When it comes to most boy-girl bands, I think you either love them or you hate them, my ex-boyfriend, fell into the latter category. He kind of despised the American, 90's boy band Backstreet Boys - among others - but hey not me no way hose'. Whenever, they came on the radio, I'd be like oh, I love this song and he'd be like, Can you please, please turn that down? To add insult to injury one can't help but scream - I mean sing - and dance along with their catchy tunes. I'll admit it I like some of their songs. I'm not the only one either, because they've reportedly sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
This American boy band is well known for such pop hits as, As Long as You Love Me, Quit Playing Games, Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely and my personal favourite, I Want It That Way which goes a little something like this,"We are two worlds apart, can't reach to your heart, when you say, that I want it that way, tell me why....aint nothing but a heartache, aint nothing but a mistake, I never wanna hear you say, I want it that way."
Okay, you can remove your hands from your ears, the torture is over. I'll stop and put you out of your misery. I can't really hit the high notes, so I know I'm just adding insult to injury. The Backstreet Boys latest album from 2007 is called Unbreakable and in 2008 they'll be working on a new one, apparently.
