Nowhere like Nomas
I just read that chartered trip bookings for Danes travelling elsewhere this summer are up 30% compared to the same time period in 2007. People here, sure love to travel. Since I won't be able to travel much myself this summer we are looking to get away in May. That's if my passport is signed, sealed and delivered here on time. Oh, I won't go into that as it gives me nightmares, hives and anxiety attacks all at the same time, honestly. I only hope that I do not have to have my photo retaken and resubmitted more than three times. Three strikes and they are out, or I am plum out of luck, however you see it.
Anyhow, I think we'll be going to Phuket, Thailand again. If you haven't been there, take a minute to look at our Bangkok blog and Christopher's March 11th post with accompanying photo. Now you get the idea, yes? Personally, I miss much about Thailand including the elephants, the beach, people and food. We really enjoyed the traditional spicy Thai food where vegetables and seafood are staples. I hadn't really tried Thai food before that, even though I have a Thai friend here who sang its delectable praises.
Speaking of which, and getting back to the topic of this blog which is "Copenhagen," yes? There are also many delicious places to eat here in Denmark. If you are looking for one of the crème de la crème restaurants in Copenhagen, here is an interesting one that made it onto the prestigious Michelin's list, which just came out this month.
Restaurant Noma, located in Copenhagen was listed as one of the fifty best restaurants to eat at in the entire world. A four course lunch at this gourmet, Nordic restaurant will set you back 495 Dkr but word on the street is, it is worth every penny. Included in the dining experience could be such favourites as potatoes, root veggies, lobster and oysters. The decor is light and bright with Danish designed furniture from the 1950's.
