Senegal Sun in Copenhagen
Last year, at about this time I was vacationing in sunny Cape Verde, located just off of Africa's Senegalese coast. While there, I was seduced by the various dance forms and music. Drawing from Portuguese and African influences, I found the music to be unique, sensual and rhythmic. That's why when I read that one of Africa's biggest rock/pop international music stars is making a pit stop in Copenhagen tonight, I took a second look.
With dance rhythms from Senegal and a voice that deserves a welcoming audience, one of Senegal, Africa's biggest stars "Youssou N'Dour" will be gracing the Amager Bio stage tonight. He is best known from Swedish Neneh Cherry's 1994 hit "7 seconds", which also made Mr. N'Dour an international name. He has performed in Denmark before at the Roskilde Festival in 2000..
