Turning Japanese in Copenhagen
The other night I watched the TV program "What not to wear" with Trinny and Susannah. If you do not know what I am talking about it is a makeover show based in the U.K. Every week the two fashion savvy women find a fashion victim and torture and torment her. (a.k.a. make her over.)
The victim this week was arguing that inexpensive jeans look just as good as the more high priced ones. Trinny and Susannah really plead a good case by explaining to their victim of the day in detail, why it really pays to buy high end jeans. They mentioned that there are a variety of factors like the colours, pocket placement, details etc.
If you are looking for the high end sort in Copenhagen you can find Japanese designer Hidehiko Yamane's jeans. Apparently, he started out working for world famous "Levis," but he wanted to make jeans that were of better quality. Thus, he started his own line in 1991. He has expanded since then to a children's line, accessories line and much more.
If your motto is "quality not quantity" you might want to check out his jeans. They start at around 1,000 Dkr and up to 4,000 Dkr. The higher priced ones are hand dyed, with handmade details and are packaged in an exquisite box.
