Things We Lost in the Fire
Susanne Bier is one of Denmark's best known and well respected film instructors. Her most recently released film, currently playing in Denmark is a drama entitled "Things We Lost in the Fire." Filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, this heavy film includes an all star cast including soon to be real life mom, Halle Berry. Benico Del Toro and David Duchovny are also included in the talented roster.
In the film the oscar-winning Berry plays a mother to a daughter eleven and a son who is eight. The plot of the film revolves around a widow (played by Halle) who invites her husband's troubled best friend to live with her and her children. He eventually deals with his own demons and finds the strength to help Halle's family cope with their own loss.
The film is intensive, which reflects Susanne Bier herself (according to her own words.) Susanne, is well known for her "less is more policy" when it comes to her leading ladies and their makeup. Fortunately for Halle she doesn't need to cake it on to look good.
According to today's ekstrabladet.dk Susanne Bier and Halle Berry hit it off both professionally and personally. In a video interview, Susanne stated that Halle Berry is so naturally beautiful it is almost unbelievable. Even early in the morning, when everyone else looks like heck in a hand bag.
