Happy New Year 2008
It is almost 2008. Can you believe it? It seemed like not too long ago we were bringing in the millennium. Time sure flies when you are having fun. I just looked over my New Year's Resolutions from 2007 and I think I have accomplished them all. 2008 will just be a continuation and improvement on 2007's resolutions. Travelling more, with meaning and purpose and complaining less. I guess it's just important to do what makes you happiest and try and prioritize those activities as much as you can, I suppose. Perhaps travelling isn't everyone's cup of tea but it is mine. I don't know if I will be fortunate enough in 2008 to travel as much as I did in 2007.
I visited Cape Verde, Thailand, Germany, Austria, Italy, Canada and Sweden in 2007, all life changing experiences that I am very grateful for. One event that sticks out in my mind is when we visited Cape Verde and it rained in the middle of the night. It was just a light rain but it provoked howls of joy and dancing in the streets. The reason being was it hadn't rained so much there in a year and to us who feel like we see rain 24 hours a day, it seemed like it was hardly anything. That made me appreciate the most basic of human necessities and I'll always be changed for experiencing that.
My theme song in 2008 will be "we're here for a good time not a long time, so have a good time the sun don't shine every day," or something like that. I am going to have to cut back on at least one of my hobbies because I do not have time to do them all properly and that means not doing any of them justice. I think I said that last year but I obviously didn't heed my own advice because I'm still trying to dabble in everything in one form or another.
What else. It would be nice to see my name removed from all of the triple xxx websites on the internet but I can't do much about that I don't think. I can't remember the last time I participated in a triple xxx film or project. Let's see now. Okay, now I remember when ...."Never!" I am not judging anyone's means of making a living but, you know I've just not been down that road and don't plan on it either. It's all rather humorous actually.
I'd like to be removed from the work at home scammer's email list or hear less from the boys from Lagos requesting millions of dollars be transferred to another country. You know how this scam goes. They don't use your name directly but say they found your name in the "trustworthy person's database." Hmm...I didn't know there was such a database.
I'd like to ride my indoor bicycle more. Surely there is one out there that is more comfortable than the one I own. I have to quit swearing. I have switched over to Danish profanities so in my mind that's not really swearing "for pokker." No, not for poker but "for pokker." (A Danish curse word). But if you wish to play poker on New Year's Eve by all means do so and have a good time doing it. All the best to you and yours in 2008.
