Another Day at the Office

Today I worked on the upcoming TV series "Sommer" and had a small part as a book worm again. I wasn't so excited about it because it seemed like I just did this last week? Can you say type cast? It felt a bit like a case of déjà vu.

Anyhow, I have to learn to look up the location before I say yes to these things. Sometimes I forget to ask about the starting time(also a pertinent fact). Last night I found out they'd be meeting up at 7 a.m. today which with my calculations meant that if I was to take public transit, I'd have to wake up at about 3:00 a.m. in order to arrive at the location anywhere close to on time. It takes me double so long to get to a location as most people because I am clinically diagnosed as "geographically impaired." I'd never been there before and was more than a little concerned because it meant roaming around aimlessly in the dark trying to find the set.

Anyhow, I lucked out and was chauffeured in and back home again, no need for public transit. I even arrived early. We had to wait a bit as per usual but were provided with cakes, cookies, coffee, breakfast etc. Many of the people associated with the upcoming show Sommer were involved with the Emmy nominated TV show "Forbrydelsen"(aka The Crime). Unfortunately they didn't win this year but  there's always next year. In fact, they are talking about doing a Forbrydelsen II. Cross your fingers and let's hope it happens.

While we waited for our scene, I buried my head in an interesting book I'm reading(more on that another time). On the rare occasion that I raised my head, I took note of a familiar face. Low and behold, it was a man I worked with on Forbrydelsen earlier this year. We were talking about some of the scenes (I was in two, one might have been cut), our individual experiences on the series and the great camera work on that show.

Although the disclosure of the actual murderer was shrouded in mystery until the bitter end, he was telling me that he worked so much on that program that he was pretty much certain he knew who the girl's killer couldn't be, in any case. So, it was funny listening to people who were fans of the show guess incorrectly, he said. Of course it goes without saying that we are all sworn to secrecy when we work on these shows, especially with regards to important scenes so he just had to play dumb. Unless, he didn't want to work in this town again but I doubt that as he's a person with integrity and enjoys and respects the industry quite a lot I think.

We also talked about the final episode which was televised this past Sunday, to some of the highest ratings ever for a Danish program I might add. He had been involved in this episode but told me it was taped ages ago. They also kept most actors, extras etc. in the dark as to what was actually happening, during the "climactic" scene. Tricky little devils aren't they? This way it was less likely to slip out to the press, I suppose and less chance of someone slipping up and accidentally telling. It's better not to know sometimes. Anyhow, all in all it was an interesting day, talking to interesting people and learning something new.
