Crummy Camping

I was kind of feeling bummed out the other day. I don’t really know why, just was. I think it has something to do with our summer vacation going by so quickly. Like I said before, earlier this month we drove down to fantastical Venice, Italy and stayed there for about a week. This is the third time we’ve ended up camping in Venice. No sorry that’s a lie, it’s the fourth time. The first time I’d prefer to wipe clean from my memory.

Now let’s see, let me relive the nightmare. We stayed at a camping site, 3 stars I believe. It looked good, treed plots, swimming pool and pleasant atmosphere. So we said we’ll take it! We were pitching up our tent and I thought I’d take a well deserved break (after about five minutes) so I lied down on the ground and then heard what sounded like a bomb going off. Sure I was going to have a heart attack, I peered up and witnessed what looked to be a 747 airplane flying steadily and a little too clearly overhead.

The camping site, unbeknownst to us at the time is located right beside the international airport. The planes seemed so uncomfortably close that I could see the wheels of the plane being tucked into the aircraft after takeoff and the smell of fuel was profuse - our poor lungs. To make a long story short we awoke to this clamber and pollution everyday at 7 a.m and it continued all day, everyday.

Anyhow, since then we’ve been fortunate enough to stumble onto  a great camping site in Venice and take it from someone who isn’t a big fan of camping this is a great camping site. If you are interested, stay tuned and I’ll tell you about it tomorrow.
