Takin' the Road out of Road Trip
We just returned from our road trip through Europe. I didn't end up blogging for a variety of different reasons, one big one being the labtop died, god rest its soul. Our destination ended up being Venice not like we planned because we thought we'd make it down to France but it didn't work out that way. The above pic depicts the scene both there and back. We were warned before we left that there would be long line-ups. Most of the congestion occurred in Austria. I can't think of a more beautiful place to be in a traffic jam. Above is a photo of miles and miles of patient travellers waiting to get to their destination. I'm not a traffic analyst but many Europeans are on vacation at the moment and that combined with car accidents and the tunnel system in Austria created the wait. The lanes merge from two to one suddenly and this contributes to the usual summer traffic havoc.
