Life's a Beach in Copenhagen
The sun rises very early here this time of the year, like at about 4:30 a.m. Since I'm an "A" type that suits me to a tea. I can get most of my work done by noon and save the rest of the day for other things, like going to the beach for example. I've always known that Denmark has spectacular beaches, but it's the weather that's been the problem. Well that's not the case this weekend.
The weather is slated to be fantastic here the entire weekend. Already it is 63 degrees Fahrenheit(17 degrees Celsius) outside and it's only 6 a.m. Today and tomorrow it's supposed to reach highs of 77 degrees Fahrenheit(25 degrees Celsius), so you might want to pack up that sunscreen and head to any of the wonderful beaches in and around Copenhagen. Here's a list of various beaches in and around Copenhagen. Pay special note to Ishøj Beach.
If you're in the heart of Copenhagen, go to Copenhagen's Harbour and take a swim at Copenhagen's waterfront.
Amager Strandpark (Amager Beach Park) located just 5 km from the centre of Copenhagen and situated along Amager Strandvej, is a 4.6 km long beach. Enjoy a view of the Swedish coastline.
Charlottenlund Strandpark(Charlottenlund Beach Park). Located just 6-7 km north of Copenhagen, this beach is blessed with a sandy beach and plenty of grassy areas.
Bellevue Strand Park(Bellevue Beach Park) is located just 10 km north of Copenhagen with a small sandy beach, plenty of grassy areas and trees.
Ishøj Beach. For something a little more exotic, you might want to try this unofficial nude beach, located in Ishøj just south of Copenhagen. Last summer, there was a problem with people getting a "little too into the mood," if you know what I mean, so you might see more than you bargained for.
